Unreal Jumperz

Hey guys, got a question bout a server and some commands related to jumping.

Really nice Clan, and happen to also have a jumpserver running besides the regular ones. I jump there from time to time since i know ppl there and its usually quiet and runs stockmaps pretty often. (really doubt they would knowingly mess their servers)

Just before i wrote this now i was in there with some others and we played castle easy. Well i got bored and followed another guy to do gaps, jumped til 240 or such and switch to 250FPS to move on faster.

Gaps usually just annoy me until 255units or such on this framerate, but this time i did 255-258 in almost 1 go Question

I just fell on 256 cause i hit jump too late and just ran over the edge.

Usually 255/256 easy, 257 ok, 258/259 need a good jump already and 260/261 i make on rare occasions. (260�2x before today, 261 only once and its the biggest jump i knowingly made in cod2).
But today i made 260 twice and i really want to know if theres anything wrong with this server/settings. If not ill ask someone to upload ultra_gaps, and go for 262 Laughing

Anyways, would be nice if any1 could have a quick look in a free minute and check that server out or give my some commands i can use to check things out myself.
(i guess grav / speed jumpheight or such would be interesting i just dont knoe commands and default values)

just press shift- console

and check it out with /rcon g_speed
and
/rcon g_gravity

It will return the values Smile

i also played in the arena jumpserver once, who had high grav -.- so maybe this server is the same

Well the problem isnt doing the jumps again i know i can since i done it already but i was more than just a bit suprised how easy things were.
As i said, to hit 255 in 1 go cant suprise me but no way i would expect so many 250+ just as easy as it was the case here.
And it was a bit weird cause i tried the normal part of map also (castle) and didnt notice anything strange or different.

One of the things i will do is try around some more with my settings cause i realized that i changed some things lately and use totally diff. values for some things now.
I always switch around some stuff, try new things or other options and noticed some major improvements on some stuff like my movement/speed and such. Will try out and maybe post to ask/tell you some more bout it.

Ive been trying some settings and actually found a few that I just feel a lot better with most of the time.
Feels like dropped a BIG weight thats been dragging me down, making me slower. Surprised

Think ill make a few binds and do jumps that tend to give me trouble 2 or 3 times on a diff. setup, so maybe I can get rid of all but 1 in the end. Smile

btw. anyone knows fun ender or maybe read the strafe/fps stuff on there? (website is pretty old and seems pretty dead but its still there).

@cheesy: what do u mean by make a gap movie 250fps=254 or more?
I think 6 or 7 jumps make a pretty lame movie Laughing

(or how far were u planning to go?^^)

Only thing I thought about in past is something on custom maps since most standard cod2 maps are so overplayed and the jumps there are already in a million youtube videos, demos, jumpmovies etc. and no1 will really bother anymore. Videos on a jumpmap I dont know, I still LOVE some of the jumpmovies from older Q-based games but personally i cant enjoy too much in cod due to lack of speed and such.

On the other hand most stuff Ive seen was made real bad (just a video with fraps in baad quality + a random mp3) but with a bit of editing, nice music and effects I think you can make a good movie out of pretty much anything.
