2 things actually.
1st off i wanted to make some own textures to use in maps such as photos, texts etc. (the end / gaps / this is... / made by / ...) things like those being used in many other maps aswell.

2nd thing is a cushion texture like in cod1 radiant. (fall on it and dont get hurt). Is there something i missed in radiant now, maybe in triggers? Or will i have to make an own texture?

I just know some people got them as a custom texture obviously in their maps. Tevy has it, Luke uses them, didnt really look around for more but they seem common in cod2 aswell.

I already have some plugin i downloaded for my PS-CS3 but must be misunderstanding something.

thx in advance

As far as the thing with new walls/floors or some posters/signs goes i got a new plugin (nvr got things to run yet) and it seems all fine to me now.
But MAAAN what a pain in the butt Shocked I didnt think some lame textures would take almost more work to get into my map than the actual process of mapping itself. So many options in Asset Manager i never saw and so much things I needed to read up on just to get started.

I finally got some nice textures
(started with walls/floors and a "lava" one in photoshop)
and saved things as .DDS files in some "images" folder i had to create in my MAIN.

Used the Asset Manager (thing is pure horror tbh) and now im sitting on some files and folders that probably hold the things i need to put in my final .iwd but i dunno which or even where they go Crying or Very sad

I got that images folder, right next to it some "materials" folder appeared which is full of .dds / .iwi / .gdt files. Question

Also some folders named: assetsrccache / assettgtcache / convertcache
appeared after using the Asset Manager Question

Any tips or ideas where to get a good tutoriat/eplanation on things?
Modsonline left off right at this point and since i know most tuts there anyhow i doubt theres more :/

after asset manager you have 3files gdt. game data file not important
.iwi Put it in you MAIN/images folder
.file put in your MAIN/materials folder

if you make iwd dont forget to put materials and image in or you cant see the texture in mp

Ok I guess I get what you mean, thanks a lot for the help on this.
Smile
But what could be wrong now if things are not showing up in radiant?
Got it like you said, the .iwi in the images, the other one in materials.
I know what material/surface and where it should be, but its not there.
Either I could have messed up with the picture itself already or must have made a mistake using the asset manager im afraid, but I dont know.
Any ideas?
Idea Question

sometimes new custom textures dont appear in radiant at me too...
try restarting your pc or just get it manually: make a caulk brush and from the menu textures --> find/replace just replace the caulk with your new texture .. then it should appear normally in radiant
